Chrysocephalum apiculatum, commonly known as Yellow Buttons or Strawflower, is a delightful perennial plant native to Australia. It features small, rounded, yellow flower heads resembling buttons, hence its name. Growing this ground cover plant is relatively easy. It thrives in well-draining soil with full sun exposure.  Water moderately, allowing the soil to dry between waterings. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. Yellow Buttons are drought-tolerant and low maintenance, making them ideal for gardens with minimal care. Pruning spent flowers encourages continuous blooming. With its compact size and attractive golden blooms, Chrysocephalum apiculatum adds a burst of color to gardens, borders, and containers.

The bright yellow flower heads appear in clusters at the ends of the stems, mainly during summer and autumn but it is not unusual to see flowers at other times of the year. Individual flower heads are up to 15 mm in diameter.
