Callistemon Pallidus, Lemon Bottlebrush
Callistemon Pallidus or Lemon Bottlebrush is a fine native species for light screening purposes. Some moderate trimming is required in early spring to help keep a neat shape. After flowering a nut of shell is produced on the limbs. At matuirty Lemon bottlebrush grows up to 5 metres in height and has leaves which are 3 to 7 cm long and 9 to 15 mm in width. The cream to yellow flower spikes, which are 3 to 7 cm in length and about 3.5 cm in diameter, occur between spring and summer.
Water moderately during first summer.
