Brachychiton acerifolius, commonly known as the Illawarra Flame Tree, can be grown in Victoria with the right care. Plant in a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but avoid waterlogging.

The Illawarra Flame Tree is drought-tolerant once established. It can reach up to 15 meters in height and spread, so ensure it has enough space to grow. Prune lightly in late winter to maintain its shape and promote new growth. This tree produces stunning red bell-shaped flowers in late spring to early summer, adding a spectacular burst of color to the garden.

It is relatively low-maintenance once established, making it a popular choice for gardens in Victoria. Stunning statement tree which is regularly seen in the St.kilda Botanical gardens.
