Fast growing evergreen. Semi-deciduous in cool climates an ideal screen tree. Dark glossy leaves. Bark is pale greyish and papery. Suitable in most soils in full sun. Will grow in waterlogged sites.  Must have plenty of space, as these can be potentially damaging around drains, and concrete footings.  Can reach a size of 30-40 feet (9-12 meters) in height and has a moderate spread, making it a medium-sized tree for landscaping purposes.
