Aeonium Starburst

Aeonium ‘Starburst’ is a striking, variegated succulent featuring rosettes of fleshy leaves in a mix of green, creamy yellow, and pinkish-red hues. The colors intensify in full sun, creating a vibrant focal point in rock gardens, pots, or Mediterranean-style landscapes.  

In Australia, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and requires well-drained soil to prevent root rot. Once established, it is drought-tolerant, needing only occasional deep watering. Protecting it from excessive winter moisture and providing shelter from harsh afternoon sun in extremely hot climates helps maintain its health and coloration.  

Ideal companion plants include other drought-tolerant succulents such as Aeonium ‘Schwarzkopf,’ Sedum ‘Gold Mound,’ and Agave, as well as ornamental grasses for added texture. These combinations enhance its bold coloring and structural beauty, making it a standout feature in water-wise gardens.
