The Jacaranda Mimosifolia is mainly grown for its soft fern like foliage and breath taking purple/lilac large flowers in Sping/Summer.
Jacaranda mimosifolia, commonly known as the Jacaranda tree, can grow to an impressive size, reaching heights of 40 to 50 feet (12 to 15 meters) with a spread of 30 to 45 feet (9 to 14 meters).
This fast growing tree is an elegant specimen with soft, green foliage which turns yellow in winter before shedding. Flowering occurs in summer, when purple, bell shaped blooms are produced, covering the canopy. The seed pods are very distinct fleshy curved green pods that eventually dry and open. It is an attractive open tree with branches upwardly ascending. A great summertime feature due to it's stunning purple flowers.
