Metrosideros Tahiti

A compact evergreen shrub. Silvery grey new growth that matures to a grey/green. An excellent tub plant or low hedge. Produces red/oranges flowers.
Beautiful rounded shrubby bush with deep green foliage covered in grey powder bloom contrasts with the brilliant orange red flowers that appear from late winter through spring. Produces a mass of deep red flowers

Prefer a full sun or partly shaded position in well drained soil, will tolerate coastal conditions. Frost protection would be beneficial for young plants. For best results cut back and feed with a long term slow release fertiliser in late winter after frosts have cleared. Metrosideros Tahiti will make a great feature plant, responds well to clipping. To grow Metrosideros 'Tahiti' in Melbourne and suburban areas, plant it in a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, but avoid overwatering. 'Tahiti' is tolerant of a range of soil types and is relatively low-maintenance once established. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape. Protect from frost in colder months.
