Melaleuca lanceolata, or Moonah Paperbark, thrives in Victoria's coastal and sandy soils. To grow this native tree, choose a sunny location with well-drained soil, as it prefers dry to moist conditions but can tolerate drought once established. Plant it in a spot protected from strong winds, as it can be sensitive to harsh conditions. Water regularly during the first few years to encourage root development. Pruning can help shape the tree and promote bushier growth. Moonah Paperbark is also beneficial for local wildlife, providing habitat and food for birds and insects, making it an excellent choice for sustainable gardening in Victoria.
