Lagerstroemia indica 'Natchez' is a variety of crepe myrtle, a deciduous shrub or small tree that is prized for its stunning summer flowers and attractive bark. The 'Natchez' cultivar is known for its white blooms, which appear in large clusters in mid- to late summer. The flowers have a crepe-like texture, which gives the plant its common name.
It has a broad, vase-shaped habit and attractive peeling bark that adds winter interest to the landscape. The leaves are a dark green color and turn yellow, orange, or red in autumn.
Crepe myrtles, including the 'Natchez' cultivar, prefer a sunny location and well-drained soil. They are generally easy to care for and are relatively drought-tolerant once established. Pruning can be done in late winter or early spring to encourage a more compact growth habit and promote flower production.
'Natchez' is a popular cultivar of crepe myrtle and is often used as a specimen plant or in group plantings in the landscape. It can also be grown in a large container as a patio or deck plant.
