This grass forms small dense tussocks of slender leaves to 300 mm long. The leaves are very slender, Terete, only 0.7 mm wide. The Ligule is stiff, membranous and Truncate, 0.5 mm long. The Inflorescence forms an open Panicle above the leaves, to 200 mm long, of numerous spikelets of 2 to 7 tiny flowers.
