Carex buchananii Leather leaf Sedge, The most well-known of the many Hair Sedges / Carex species from New Zealand, performing best in regions with similar mild winter climates.

Drought and frost tolerant, extremely hardy.  Prune back if necessary, but otherwise will grow to 70cm-1mt tall and wide. Its beige colour can provide a real contrast in the garden.  Useful in mass landscape where low maintenance planting is required.  Will benefit from feeding twice per year with a complete plant food and liquid fertiliser.
