Acer Campestre, Field Maple

Acer Field Maple is a compact, slow growing small tree with a dense round canopy, and a somewhat corky bark. Small leaves with rounded lobes, dark green in summer, which turn a beautiful clear yellow in the autumn. Green inconspicuous flowers from September to October. 
At maturity will stand 15mt tall and 10mt wide. Will benefit from thick mulching during summer, 

In terms of its uses, Acer campestre has both ornamental and practical value. In landscaping, it is often used as a shade tree in gardens, parks, and streetscapes. Its dense foliage provides good shade during the summer months. The Field Maple is also sometimes used for hedging purposes due to its ability to withstand pruning and its ability to form a dense hedge.

Great as a street tree. Drought Tolerant most conditions, including dry alkaline soils. Can be grown in full sun or part shade. Can tolerate some pollution and compact soils.  Will benefit from complete plant food application every 6 months.
