Sizing guide

Westringia longifolia is a excellent species for planting in Melbourne suburbs.  Thrives in the bayside area's of Brighton, Elwood, Hampton and Mordiallic. However they can thrive anywhere from Sydney, to the Central Coast.

Westringia longifolia, commonly known as the Coastal Rosemary, thrives in the climates of Melbourne and Sydney. Plant in well-draining soil in a sunny to partly shaded location. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, and provide mulch to conserve moisture. This drought-tolerant evergreen shrub boasts a graceful, upright habit and can grow up to 2 meters in height, with a similar spread. Prune lightly after flowering in spring to maintain a compact shape and encourage bushy growth.

Coastal Rosemary is well-suited for coastal gardens and can tolerate a range of soil types. Its attractive lavender-blue flowers and aromatic foliage make it a charming addition to gardens in Melbourne and Sydney, where it can thrive in a variety of conditions.
A dense, rounded shrub with slightly irregular, spiky outline and grey/green, linear leaves that are white underneath. It has white to mauve flowers throughout most of the year. Makes a good hedge and thrives in coastal locations that do not get too cold in winter.

Soil: Well drained soils with added humus.
Maintenance: Trim regularly to keep neat - feed with blood and bone annually and keep well watered in the summer. Older plants can be re-juvenated by a stronger cutting back.
