Agapanthus Black Pantha

The long stemmed Agapanthus ‘Black Pantha’ has a commanding presence. Plant this form of Agapanthus as a contrast with low groundcover such as Cerastium, or even with other lower forms of agapanthus such as dwarf white and baby pete.

Each flower on the black pantha displays a mass of florets of intense color, giving it an almost black appearance. The form of the flower cluster is unique as the upper flowers tend to remain closed while the outer florets open and drop to the side, maintaining the blackness of the cluster. Multi-flowering from a single plant makes this agapanthus unique amongst large agapanthus species. Extended flowering of up to 12 weeks starts in early November; secondary flowering in April provides another display of color.

Agapanthus black pantha will flower more prolifically and maintain foliage health if 80-100mm of Mulch is applied 1-2mt up to the base.
