Banksia spinulosa, or Hill Banksia, is a hardy, evergreen shrub native to Australia. It typically grows 1-3 meters tall and wide, featuring narrow, serrated leaves and striking cylindrical flower spikes ranging from golden-yellow to orange-red. Blooming from autumn to winter, the flowers attract birds and pollinators. Hill Banksia thrives in well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. It is drought-tolerant and can withstand poor soils and coastal conditions. This low-maintenance plant is perfect for native gardens, wildlife gardens, and as a striking feature in landscapes, adding year-round interest and vibrant seasonal color.
An attractive native shrub which grows 2-4mt high and 2-5mt wide. The upright flowers are set amongst narrow green leaves. The flowers are ideal for floristry arrangments. Avoid alkaline soils but otherwide any well drained, sunny position.
